EXTERNAL CASE USER'S MANUAL

Model: CD-R4-U2FW (USB/IEEE1394)

 

A. Hardware Installation Guide


1: Items to be installed:

A. body case
B. CD ROM drive
C. back cover with IDE / power cables
D. stand
E. bracket for CD ROM drive
x 2
F. long screws x 4

G. short screws x 8

 

 

2. Prepare to fix the bracket to the side of CD ROM drive; please move the
bracket to the proper position as shown in the picture below:

 

3. Screw both brackets firmly to the CD ROM drive with short screws G

 

4. Connect the IDE and power cables attached on the back cover to the
CD ROM drive

 

5. Insert the tenons of the back cover into the sockets on the brackets

 

6. Slide in the CD ROM drive with the brackets along with the tracks on body case

 

After inserting the CD ROM drive

 

7. Screw the back cover to the body case with screws F

 

8.(Optional) Prepare to install the stand; please notice that the side with fillister on the stand will slide in the body case first

Slide in the stand until the fillister fits the tenon on the body case

 

9.Connect IEEE1394 and power cables to the correct ports back on the cover

 

10.Complete

 

 

B. Driver Installation Guide (FOR PC)

USB

(Make sure the external device is disconnected before the installation)

 

1. Please insert the driver CD into CD-ROM

2-1 Windows will automatically run the installation wizard, select "5.25"External Enclosure / Manual", then "CD-R4-U2FW (Driver for Win98)" on the menu

2-2 The driver will be installed automatically

Or you can double click the installation file "WIN98.EXE" in the following directory:

CD-ROM\ External \ RX-U2FW \ WIN98.EXE

After restarting your computer, please connect the CD-R4-U2FW external enclosure to your computer by the attached USB cable. In few seconds the new external CD-ROM drive will display in "my computer" window.

Auto detection, no driver installation is needed.

 

C. Driver Installation Guide (FOR MAC)

USB

Support only Mac OS 9.X and above version (PnP), no driver installation is needed.
