A. Hardware Installation Guide

1. Items to be installed:

A. body case

B. top cover

C. bottom cover

D. screws for fixing HD x 4

E. screws for fixing covers x 8

2. Insert the HD into the body case

3. Screw the Hard Drive firmly to the case ( screws D)

4. cover with the top / bottom

5. Screw top / bottom cover firmly to the body case ( screws E)

6. According to the interface you apply, connect the USB or IEEE1394 and
power cable (with PS/2 connector) to the external case.

* When using a HDD of 40GB or larger capacity, please use a DV 5V power
adaptor.

B. Driver Installation Guide (FOR PC)

USB

• No Driver is needed in Windows ME / Windows 2000 / Windows XP operating system.
  
• For Windows98
  

(Make sure the external device is disconnected before the installation)

1. Please insert the driver CD into CD-ROM

2-1 Windows will automatically run the installation wizard, select "2.5"External Enclosure / Manual",
then "HD-D1-U2FW (Driver for Win98)" on the menu

2-2 The driver will be installed automatically

Or you can double click the installation file "WIN98.exe" in the following directory:
CD-ROM \ External \ DX-U2FW \ WIN98.exe

Please follow the instruction as following:

After restarting your computer, please connect the HD-D1-U2FW
external case to your computer by the attached USB cable. In few
seconds the new external CD-ROM drive will display in "my computer" window.

Auto detection, no driver installation is needed.

C. Driver Installation Guide (FOR MAC)

USB

Support only Mac OS 9.X and above version (PnP), no driver installation is needed.

OS 9.X and above: No driver installation is needed.
